Liturgical

Eucharistic Ministers

Commissioned lay faithful who assist with the distribution of Holy Communion at Mass and bring the Eucharist to the sick and homebound in nursing homes and hospitals. Training is required annually at the parish and through a Diocesan Liturgical session.

Lectors & Commentators

Ministers who proclaim the Word of God at the ambo, study Scripture prayerfully before each liturgy, and serve as commentators for announcements and the Prayers of the Faithful. Training is offered twice a year.

Altar Servers & Acolytes

Boys and girls in grade 5 and above who serve beside the priest at Mass as cross bearer and sanctuary assistant. A training session is required before serving.

Ushers & Greeters

Volunteers who welcome parishioners and visitors into our house of worship, help everyone find comfortable seating, and attend to any special needs during the liturgy.

Music Ministry

Four ensembles — the Saturday 5p Mass Choir, St. Jude Chorale (9:30a Sunday), Youth Choir (3rd–8th grade), and Handbell Choir — lead the assembly in sung prayer across all weekend liturgies. Rehearsals are held weekly; all singers and instrumentalists are welcome.

Prayer & Spirituality

Charismatic Prayer Group

An informal weekly gathering for shared prayer, Scripture reflection, and the exercise of the charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit — including song, spontaneous prayer, silence, and personal sharing. Meets every Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Visitation of Mary.

Men's Prayer Group

A brief but focused weekly gathering where men of the parish praise the Lord through Bible readings and reflections, special prayers, and shared petitions. Meets every Wednesday, 7:00–7:30 a.m., Family Life Center, Room M3.

Fellowship

Men of Jude

A parish men's service organization founded in 1990 whose motto is "Faith, Family and Friendship." Members support the parish through manual labor on projects, fundraising events (barbecue, gumbo, and more), monthly parish breakfasts, and community outreach during Lent and throughout the year. Open to all registered men. Meets the second Tuesday of each month, 6–8 p.m.

Women of Jude

A women's organization united by the motto "Service, Social, and Spirituality," organizing the annual parish garage sale, seasonal parish breakfasts, and collaborating on major events such as the Gold Rush and Parish Picnic. Meets the first Monday of each month in Culotta Hall, 6–8 p.m.

Service & Outreach

Bereavement Meals

A compassionate ministry that prepares and provides meals for families of the parish who have experienced the loss of a loved one, surrounding them with practical care during their time of grief. // TODO: confirm with parish

Nursing Home Visits

Dedicated parishioners who visit and bring Holy Communion to residents at Calder Woods Retirement Community, Collier Park Retirement Center, Dowlen Oaks Retirement Community, and Lindbergh Health Care Center.

Prison Ministry

The Criminal Justice Ministry provides pastoral and sacramental care to incarcerated Catholics through mentors, small-group Scripture study, visitation, and office support. Multiple volunteer roles are available for those who feel called to this mission.

Pro-Life Committee

Parishioner volunteers who advocate for the sanctity of all human life through postcard campaigns to elected officials, the annual Rally for Life, baby-item drives for Birthright of Beaumont and Hope Women's Resource Clinic, and a visible public witness of prayer.

Vic Soares — 409-866-8652

Vocation Committee

Working in liaison with the Beaumont Serra Club, this committee fosters and promotes vocations to the priesthood and religious life through daily prayer after Mass, the "31 Club," and programs that encourage parishioners and young people to hear and respond to God's call.
